Where Wine Meets Music AMEA: Dealing with Matters of the Heart(Click the picture for V&V Article)
I never initially wrote the words to "Intimacy". It was more of an outburst after work one day. I was sitting in traffic, waiting for a text message or call. Dramatically basking in my anxiety, I just started humming "You so f*ckin' selfish". I thought, "Oh man, that's kind of raw...wait, am I selfish for wanting them to respond? Are they selfish for not considering I want them to respond?".
In a world of instant gratification, people believing that liking someone makes you "Thirsty", and a plethora of contradictions it makes it difficult to establish a threshold of what a healthy picture of intimacy looks like. I surely do not have the answers, I really hope you're not reading this looking for that. However, I did write this song and this album with these questions in mind. Self care, exploration, and moderation are key ideas that come to mind as I wrote about closeness with humanity and most importantly, with one self.
Songs like "Well Done" & "Let Go" were written with self care in mind on the journey to building intimacy with self. This album also includes many cheesy love songs like "Summer Love" to listen to on road trips, while you're cleaning, or basically any situation where you want a peaceful and relatable escape. Keep in mind, I am an artist and I am a sociologist. I am always open to conversation about any topic I sing about(be respectful).
After releasing this EP, I was honored when Vibes & Vino reached out to me to feature my EP on their website. The link to that article is above(click the picture). It is always nice to know that I can have the opportunity to share my inspirations, love and dreams with others. I hope you all enjoy the EP, and #WinterMix is coming soon!!!
